Folded Books and Tato Boxes
Learn how to fold little origami style books and modular Tato boxes with artist Karen Elaine!

Paper Sizes
For the modular origami Tato boxes you will need:
  • 4 square origami sheets for the top
  • 4 square origami sheets for the bottom

 

For the original square folded book tutorial that inspired Karen visit this link. You will need:

  • 4 sheets of 7.5 x 15 cm paper (2 standard origami sheets cut in half)
  • 1 sheet of 7.5 x 15 cm paper (half of one standard origami sheet)
For Karen's original book tutorial (her "tall book") you will need:
  • For the inside pages: 3 sheets of 4.25 x 11" paper (standard paper 8.5" x 11" cut in half) < Karen recommends trying this with our Hosho (6H) paper, too!
  • For the cover: 1 sheet of decorative paper 4.25" x 6"
  • White glue, glue stick (Karen uses Art Glitter Glue and Gloo Glue stick)
  • Optional: Clamp
  • For the belly band: 1 strip of paper cut into 1 1/2" x 6"
