Yuzen dates back to 15th Century Japan when these beautiful designs were used for creating elegant kimonos. Today, these traditional artistic patterns and scenes are hand silk-screened onto fibrous paper crafts such as origami, card making, scrap-booking and wedding invitations. The rich colors, textures and patterns make the paper look and feel like fabric. Metallic accents on some of the papers add sparkle and depth.
