Mashi Art Paper is made in the historical town of Izumo, located within the Shimane region in Japan. Izumo has been producing authentic, high quality Japanese paper since the 8th century. Mashi is an unbleached, unsized paper used for calligraphy, ink painting, watercolors, momigami (Japanese kneaded paper), stamping, and encaustic.
